D&D Sign-Up - Helping Hunter's Healing By Bike
The cycling community is small, but the impact we can make is big! Hunter, a youth cyclist in the area, recently was diagnosed with cancer after going in for treatment from an accident on his bicycle. We want to help Hunter and his family through this difficult time while also enjoying what Hunter enjoyed most, bicycles! Sign-up for Helping Hunter's Healing By Bike Fundraiser for only $5! Every person needs a separate entry. All that is needed is a bike, helmet and a fun spirit! This event is open to all ages and biking abilities. We encourage families to ride together, as this is not a supervised group ride. ALL DONATIONS and entry money will go straight to Hunter and his family to help them through this journey. Come on out with friends and family as we explore the parks by bike. Along the way, there will be fun challenges to complete for the whole crew. This event will be closed with cider, donuts and raffles - INCLUDING A BRAND NEW BICYCLE! A note from Hunter's mother, Amanda- "Hunter is our 14 year old son that was recently diagnosed with a form of bone cancer in his shoulder called Osteosarcoma. He was diagnosed about one month ago following an accident on his bike when he hit his shoulder against a tree. This led to a battery of testing and a new cancer diagnosis. Hunter has already started chemotherapy as his tumor has almost tripled in size over the past month and would have continued at this rapid pace. He will be receiving a total of 30 weeks of chemotherapy, as well as a surgery in between to remove the cancer cells/tumor as well as any bone that is infected. This is not our first journey with cancer, as Hunter's father passed away in 2009 from a form of bone cancer called multiple myeloma, when Hunter was three and his sister was one and we know the impact that this had on our family previously. We are asking for anyone that could help to assist as we navigate through co-pays, new prescriptions, hospitalizations, transportation and daily living expenses." Hunter's go fund me page:
